Voice choir

NORTHALLERTON Male Voice Choir will be performing at All Saints Church, Great Thirkleby, on Saturday. They will present a diverse programme to suit a variety of tastes including Gershwin, the Beach Boys and Leonard Cohen. The event is to raise funds for Herriot Hospice Homecare and it starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £10 to include wine and nibbles, and can be bought from Gill Walmsley on 01845-501353.

Lantern making

FREE lantern-making workshops are running at Rural Arts in Thirsk up to October 23. Participants will learn how to make paper painted lanterns as part of a project with English Heritage. The lanterns will be displayed at Richmond Castle’s Cell Block exhibition. The workshops run from 10am to 4pm and for more details call 01845-526536.

Art exhibition

EASINGWOLD Art Fair and Exhibition is running at The Galtres Centre this weekend. There will be original artwork, prints and greetings cards as well as a pop-up cafe. The fair is open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and entry is £1.

Gala concert

ST Cecilia Orchestra will play Brahms, Bach at Beethoven with Peter Donohoe at Ripon Cathedral’s Festival Gala Concert on Saturday. It starts at 7.30pm.

Flower talk

CHELSEA Flower Show gold medal winner Rosy Hardy will give a talk on Autumn Flowering Perennials at Thief Hall, Thornton le Moor, on October 23. It starts at 7pm and tickets are £10 from phil.ogden@thornton-le-moor.co.uk

Poetry launch

RICHMOND performance poet Rantin’ Richie is launching his poetry book, from Wandsworth to Wordsworth on Saturday, October 27 at Sip Coffee in King Street, Richmond, from 7pm until 9pm.
