New bridge

A PROJECT to revitalise a riverside path network is celebrating the completion of a key element. The Malton and Norton Area Partnership is working to improve the paths between Orchard Fields and The Gannock through Lady Spring Wood, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and as part of the project, the new bridge over The Cut has now been completed.

Nursery day

RAVENSWORTH Nurseries will be judging its onion show and holding a car boot sale on September 16. The show onions will be judged at 2pm. The car boot sale, from 10am to 3pm, costs £5 per table and £8 per car or small van. Proceeds will be donated to Beefy’s Charity Foundation, which issues grants to various charities.

Garden club

RICHMOND Garden Club is hosting a talk by Don Witton on September 12 in the town hall at 7.30pm. Entry is £2 for members and £3.50 for non-members. New members welcome. Contact Anna Jackson on 01748-821343.

Swim classes

RICHMOND Pool is offering a popular programme of swimming crash courses with classes to appeal to all stages. Swimming every day can help a child to boost confidence and focus on mastering a particular stroke. For more contact the pool on 01748-824581 or email reception@rltrust.org.uk.

Village fete

A TRADITIONAL village fete is taking place at Aske Hall, Gilling West, with an Alice in Wonderland theme, on September 2 from 1pm to 5pm. Entry is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children and £10 for a family. There will be sideshows, afternoon teas, children’s fancy dress and a treasure hunt.

French classes
