A GIANT, yellow fiberglass chamber has been stolen from a hotel in North Yorkshire.

Police are investigating the theft of a 2,000 litre, Klargester grease separator from a hotel in Hutton Rudby, near Stokesley, which was undergoing renovation work, between 2.30pm on Thursday, December 12 and 9am on Friday, December 13.

Police believe that a truck with heavy lifting equipment would have been needed to remove the large chamber, which is worth about £1,200.

PC Blair Taylor, from Stokesley Safer Neigbourhood Team, said: “This is a significant piece of equipment which tends to be used in large hotel and leisure developments with catering services, rather than in normal housing estates.

“At this stage it is not known in which direction the truck left the site, therefore I am appealing for people throughout the Yorkshire and Humberside and North East regions to come forward with possible sighting or information that could help to locate the grease separator.”

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation are asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Blair Taylor. Or email; blair.taylor@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
