CHRISTMAS trees go on sale in Chopwell Wood from next weekend.
It will be the 25th year running sustainable trees have been sold from the woodland location on the border of County Durham and Gateshead.
The tree sales help fund the work of local charity, Friends of Chopwell Wood.
This year will see the return of the fairy-lit glade in the wood where shoppers can choose their real Christmas tree.
On weekend days, younger visitors Wood can meet Father Christmas who will be there to spread seasonal cheer.
Friends’ chairman Peter Winton said: “The Christmas tree sales are our main source of income and allow us to keep Chopwell Wood a safe, accessible and inviting destination for everyone. Helpers will be on hand to give their top tips on how to care for the trees.”
