WITH four weeks to go until Durham Adventure Festival, people are being encouraged to share their own stories at the event.

The festival, from Friday to Sunday, April 27 to 29, includes guest speakers such as ultra-endurance cyclist Mark Beaumont, who will talk about his world-record breaking feat in 2017, which saw him cycle 18,000 miles around the world in under 80 days. Anyone who has had their own adventure is welcome to share their story at “base camp” at the Gala Theatre in Durham, and can email rosie.bailey@durham.gov.uk to get involved.

Other festival highlights include the chance to hear from mountaineer Andy Cave, runner Elise Downing and Dave Cornthwaite, who is taking on a series of journeys each using a different form of motorised transport.

The festival is held in partnership with Kendal Mountain Festival.
