A FAMOUS piece of silverware will be visiting the region ahead of Durham Women FC’s first ever FA Cup quarter final against two-time winners Everton.

The Wildcats beat Leicester City to set up the last eight tie with the Toffees, and their showdown with the Merseysiders has been selected as the tournament’s Game of the Round – meaning that the FA Cup trophy will be visiting the region.

Fans will have two opportunities to see the famous trophy, once on Friday, March 16 from 12.15pm to 1.15pm in Durham Market Square, and again ahead of the quarter final tie at New Ferens Park on Sunday, kick off at 2pm.

People will get the opportunity to meet members of Durham Women’s first team squad and get the chance to have their photo taken with the trophy.

Tickets for the game can be purchased at the turnstile on the day of the match.

The trophy will also be visiting Consett Academy where pupils will have the opportunity to quiz first team players.
