YOUNG people thinking about their future career options can find out more about apprenticeships at an information event.

As part of National Apprentice Week, Durham County Council is hosting its tenth Apprentice Pop-Up Information Shop tomorrow and Saturday, from 9.30am to 12pm.

The event will be in a vacant shop next to the Gala Theatre in Durham’s Millennium Place and will include information on apprentice posts across the county.

One-to-one advice will also be available without the need for an appointment, while apprentices from the council will also be on hand to share their experiences.

Councillor Carl Marshall, cabinet member for economic regeneration, said: “An apprenticeship is a great way to get on the job experience while earning money and there are many great success stories within our county.”

“As well as providing information on the apprenticeships on offer within the council, this event is also a great way to find out more about the roles within other businesses and to help find the right career for you.”
