THREE pupils have written a play aimed at tackling mental health stigmas.
Durham School A-level students Megan Brown, Ben Pulman and Stavros Gidopoulos wrote Fighter, which was performed in front of pupils as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
Based on a true story of a firefighter, it tackles the subject of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dr Jenny Burns, deputy head of pastoral, said: “We are incredibly proud of what has happened in Durham School this week and of the work our young people have produced.
“Mental health and wellbeing are a priority at the school and we take seriously our responsibility to provide a supportive environment in which our pupils can thrive and develop confidence for life.”
