YOUNG performers from a community theatre group are preparing for their latest production.

Members of Durham Youth Theatre are appearing in Robinson Crusoe tomorrow at 6pm.

The panto-style show, which also has musical numbers, is being staged at Park View Community School Theatre on Church Chare in Chester-le-Street.

The cast is made up of more than 20 young people aged seven to 14 and rehearsals started in October.

Musical Director Yzen Eng, who used to work as a teacher at the school, said: “Our students have worked extremely hard over the past three months to put on the show.

“For some of the younger ones it will be the first time some of them have performed on stage.

“It’s good fun and suitable for all the family so please do come along and support the youngsters if you’re free”.

The show features Alexandra McEwan as Robinson Crusoe, Tamsin Dellapina as Mrs Crusoe, Angel Lorenzano as Polly, Lily McMillan as Sammy and Josie Buckle as Girl Friday.

Tickets, available on the door, are £8 for adults, £7 for children and those with concessions.
