A CHARITY golf contest is being planned for next month.
City of Durham Lions Club will hold the event at Houghton-le-Spring golf club, Wearside, on Wednesday, September 1.
There will be prizes for winners, runners up and third place, the two tee shots which land nearest the pins, the longest drive and a putting competition.
Entry costs £15 per player; £13 for over 65s.
Proceeds will be split between Help for Heroes and the Great North Air Ambulance.
