CITY of Durham Labour Party joined local party activists to make a series of donations around her constituency.

Her first stop was at Durham Trussell Trust foodbank, where she presented the charity with a £500 cheque. The money will be used to buy much needed supplies which will enable the foodbank to continue to provide food parcels to people in need.

Ms Foy then joined Belmont Labour Party, who were distributing donations from members of the community to local projects such as the Vulnerable Women’s Project.

Finally, she headed over to University Hospital North Durham to drop off some treats, again donated by local constituents and Sainsbury’s, for the hardworking NHS staff to enjoy.

Ms Foy said: "Community spirit is going from strength-to-strength in Durham during the coronavirus crisis. These generous acts once again showcase the incredible selflessness of our local party members, businesses and volunteers.

"Thanks to everyone who gave money, donations and their time to this. Once again, I’ve been completely overwhelmed by the community response in Durham and I am so proud to represent this brilliant constituency."
