FOAM cannons, bubble stations and a 4ft wall of suds are all part of a 5km Bubble Rush event heading back to Durham this summer.

The multi-coloured bubble frenzy will take place on Saturday, July 4 at St Leonard’s Playing Fields.

The St Cuthbert’s Hospice event is returning for a second year and any funds raised in sponsorship by those taking part will go directly towards providing outstanding care for people with life-limiting illnesses needing support and care.

Events coordinator Helen Smurthwaite said: “We are so excited to be bringing back the bubbles. Last year’s event was so much fun with people young and old getting involved and facing the foam.

“Participants can run or walk around the family-friendly course and there’s even the option to do a shorter route of 2.5K as the route is made up of two laps. Those who go for the full 5K get to ‘double the bubble’ by doing the second lap.”

A special early bird offer, £15 form adults and £10 for children, is available until Friday, before tickets become £20 for adults and £12.50 for kids.

An official Bubble Rush t-shirt to wear on the day is included in the price of the ticket and all finishers receive a medal.

Under 2’s have free entry but do not receive a t-shirt.
