A HEADTEACHER is to deliver a presentation at a national conference on how schools can make the best use of social media.

Jane Davis, from Lanchester EP Primary School, actively encourages the use of education technology to benefit the process of teaching and learning.

She has introduced a school Twitter account as a tool for improving home and school communication and as a vehicle for sharing with a worldwide audience the amazing work that pupils produce.

In September 2018 Ofsted recognised the positive impact that social media was having within the school and during the course of the inspection Ofsted engaged with the school on Twitter.

The school now has close to 1,500 followers and the use of social media networks has created pride amongst the students.

Ms Davis is due to host her presentation, Using Social Media in the Primary Classroom, at global ed-tech show, Bett, which takes place at London’s Excel January 22-25.
