A NORTH-East rugby club is inviting its former players to come back for the day for a reunion.

Durham City Rugby Club is holding the event on Saturday for its former players and members as well as those currently involved in the club.

The event takes place at the club's home at Hollow Drift, in Green Lane, Durham and past and present members are invited to reminisce about the club's recent history.

The current first team will be taking on rivals West Hartlepool, which kicks off at 2.15pm.

Anyone who gets to the clubhouse before 12.30pm will get free entry to the match.

There is also a complimentary buffet from 12pm.

A club spokesman said: "We're inviting our family members past and present to come along to our reunion day to reminisce and relive those heady days of the old clubhouse, Ladies Game 1979 and the lives and loves, triumphs and tragedies of games and tours gone by."

It will be the club's last match day of 2019 and those attending are also invited to wear Christmas jumpers.

The now yearly event is a popular day in the club's annual calendar.
