A VILLAGE history society is moving to a new venue for its final meeting of the year.

Coxhoe History Group, which meets monthly, is having its December meeting tonight at St Andrew's Church Hall, in Church Street.

The evening will include music by the Dicey Riley acoustic folk trio, who will be playing a mix of heritage and Christmas songs, and a "faith supper".

From January, the club will continue to meet at the church hall but will move its regular night to a Thursday.

At the first meeting of the year, on January 9, Joe Ward will be giving a presentation entitled "The Lost Bishop of Durham 1141-44: An unbelievable story of intrigue, deception and violence."

The group still has copies of a short book researching the legacy of the First World War in Coxhoe. Call Jack Turton on 0191 3770771 for details.
