A JUNCTION is due to be reopen today following the week-long emergency repair of a gas main in a County Durham village.
Northern Gas Network has been carrying out repair work to a main in Front Street, in Langley Moor, near Durham, since last Wednesday, November 20 after it started leaking.
The work had meant the junction between Front Street and the A690, outside the Lord Boyne Hotel, was closed, with motorists forced to take a diversion.
A spokesperson for Northern Gas said the closure is due to be removed tonight.
Anyone that smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide is advised to call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.
This line is in operation 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
