X FACTOR winner Joe McElderry will perform a concert to raise funds for suicide prevention charity If U Care Share Foundation.

Joe has performed non-stop around the UK and America since he was crowned winner of the X Factor in 2009.

The one-off charity concert at the Gateshead Hilton hotel, on Sunday, November 24, will be the final show of his Impossible Dream Tour 2019 on which he has celebrated with fans, friends and family who have supported him over his ten years in the industry.

The South Shields-born star, 28, was named as an ambassador for the Chester-le-Street based charity earlier this year and agreed to put on the show to help the Foundation in its aims to raise awareness around suicide and to support those that have been left behind.

The 28-year-old shot to fame in 2009 when he won X-Factor and has gone on to release five studio albums and landed lead stage roles in Tommy and Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. He has also recently finished a national tour, performing in the hit show Club Tropicana, and will be in Snow White and Seven Dwarves panto at Birmingham Hippodrome in December.

Charity co-founder Shirley Smith said: “Joe is so passionate about getting involved in the Foundation and helping us achieve our goals, this is a big boost for everybody involved.

“We were delighted when he accepted our offer to become an official ambassador for the Foundation and he has been so supportive since taking up the role.

“The fact he is willing to put on the show at the Hilton shows what sort of person he is, and it is a real honour to be able to work with him to make it happen.

“I am sure it will be a wonderful night for everybody involved and it will help us continue our work to support those affected by suicide.”
