THE Post Office is set to reopen Consett’s Durham Road Post Office at a new location.
The new Durham Road branch, which is scheduled to launch on Friday November 29, will offer Post Office products and services throughout shop opening hours from an open-plan till at the shop counter instead of from a separate screened counter.
The new location for the branch is Spar Blackhill, Windsor House, Pemberton Road, Blackhill, Consett, DH8 8JJ.
When the move goes ahead, the branch would open, seven days a week, from 7am to 10pm Monday to Sunday. This will offer 105 hours of Post Office service every week.
Ian Murphy, Post Office change manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents."
He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
Although the decision to reopen the branch has already been taken the Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move.
The Post Office has invited feedback on any issues customers would like considered, at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 538329 until November 15.
