A RECENTLY bolstered ladies’ choir will provide some soothing seasonal sounds at a summer concert tomorrow.

Long established Belmont Ladies’ Choir recently issued a clarion call for new voices to bolster its number after its corps band of singers dwindled due to several departures.

The recruitment drive proved effective and a number of willing new singers have come forward to join the ranks of the ensemble in time for rehearsals for its annual Strawberry Tea performance, at its ‘home base’, at Carrville Methodist Church, tomorrow.

Backed by resident pianist ‘Neville’ and ‘Steve’ on double bass, it promises to be an afternoon of light musical entertainment, with a small selection of songs by the choir.

The concert runs from 2 until 4pm, at the church in the High Street, Carrville.

There is a £5 charge, payable at the door, which covers the strawberry tea.

Anyone interested in joining the choir is welcome at rehearsals, at the church, on Mondays, at 7.30pm.
