LOVED ones of a dad who died following an assault have said his name will “live on forever”.

Paul Hutchinson, 42, of Ford Estate, Sunderland, suffered serious head injuries following a disturbance on Edward Burdis Street in the early hours of Sunday.

He died in hospital as a result of his injuries on Tuesday.

His family have issued a statement paying tribute, saying will be “deeply missed” by all,

They also thanked the community for their messages of support since the tragic incident.

The family said: “Paul was a fun, loving and caring lad. He’d do absolutely anything for his family and his two girls, Lexi and Kacey, and stepdaughter Ellie.

“He lived life to the full, helping people with their gardens and organising fun days for the little ones with his friends’ help. Paul’s mission in life was to please his family and friends. He is going to be deeply missed and never forgotten.”

An investigation is ongoing as police look to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

Shortly after the incident, a 43-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on police bail.
