A STUDENT has represented a North-East college in Parliament after winning a competition.
Alex Blyth, a trainee at Barratt Developments North-East, represented New College Durham (NCD) after designing a poster that illustrated the housing crises facing the UK.
The competition, hosted by NCD, invited all higher education faculties to create a poster that illustrated their research work in various fields ranging from sports science to graphic design.
Mr Blyth, who has been a technical trainee with Barratt Developments since August 2017, designed a poster which addressed issues such as the housing crises, fuel poverty and homelessness.
The 27-year-old then attended the British Conference of Undergraduate Research’s annual Posters in Parliament event in Westminster, where he exhibited his work alongside other students.
He said: “I was absolutely thrilled to represent New College Durham at the event in Westminster. It has been a fantastic experience to present my work in a field that I am really passionate about, as well as engaging with other like-minded students and professionals from across the country."
