A FREE dementia-friendly film showing is being held for older people who may not have visited the cinema for a while.
Pelton Community Centre is showing Mamma Mia in its hall on Saturday, February 9, at 1pm.
The audience will be able to bring food and drinks in with them, there will be no adverts before the film and the lighting will be dimmed but not dark.
A spokesman for the venue, which is part of Dementia Friendly Communities Pelton, said: “It is for anyone who finds it difficult to attend the cinema. The seating will be both in rows and around tables. We hope that people who are living with dementia and mightn’t have been to the cinema for years can feel comfortable attending something like this instead.”
