GHOSTLY and ghastly goings on are being staged to give families give some frightful fun this autumn.
The Venue on Wear Road in Stanley is hosting its Halloween Spooktacular over a two day period later this month.
The community centre is building on its successful event last year by hosting an even bigger event on October 27 and 28.
Bill Wilkinson, chairman of The Venue, said: “There will be lots of spooky goings on, there will be a fancy dress competition, games, bar, hot food, but will you have the courage to walk through the four rooms of horror?
“Come on a guided tour and meet the Butt family and their bizarre lives, involving murder, a mad professor and a walk through a nutty nursery, before creeping through the cemetery.
“This is going to be a great Halloween Spooktacular, something for all the family.
This will be first time its been held over two days, its going to be horrific, I meant terrific.”
Tickets for the events are limited, so people are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
