A TRAVEL agent’s has raised more than £500 to help send a 12-year-old girl to Germany for a life changing operation.
The fun day at Hays Travel, in Durham, was in aid of Lauren Rennie, from Ushaw Moor, who is due to travel to Germany next week for an operation on her back.
Her family has so far raised around £19,500 for the surgery, which it is hoped will correct a 54 degree bend in the Durham Johnston schoolgirl’s back, which is caused by scoliosis.
Lauren, along with her parents Joanne and Stuart, are going to Germany next week.
Mrs Rennie said: “She’s so excited about it.
“All the fundraising has been absolutely brilliant. It makes a massive different to us.”
The travel agent’s had a fun day, face painting and raffle to raise the cash.
