AN indoor bowls club is looking forward to a brighter, greener future thanks to a lighting company.

Darlington-based Lighting and Lights Limited have installed new lighting at the town's indoor bowls club.

Officials at the club said it would improve playing conditions and reduce its carbon footprint.

Ken Tinkler, club committee chairman, said: "The members felt that the previous system installed back in 1981, was in much need of replacement and with the old lights, it was starting to look quite dull on the green.

"The new lights have really lifted the spirits of everyone playing here at Darlington Indoor Bowls Club, some members have even commented that the lights have improved their game."
