There were seven reported thefts or attempted thefts from cars in Darlington on Sunday and Monday.
On Newton Lane, a man tried to steal the spare wheel from a Vauxhall Frontera at 12.43am on Sunday.
The man was disturbed by a resident and drove towards Bates Avenue in a 4x4, registration P618 AVK.
In Largo Gardens, a set of headphones and a £5 Morrisons voucher were stolen from an unsecured car late on Sunday night, or early on Monday morning.
In West Auckland Road, a handbag was stolen from a locked car between 12.45pm and 1.05pm on Monday.
In Nickstream Lane, a spare wheel was stolen from a 4x4 at 1.20pm on Monday.
In North Road, the registration plates NV52 VFO were stolen from a silver Renault Megane at 6.40pm on Monday.
In Garden Street, the front driver's side window of a Toyota Yaris was smashed and a TomTom satellite navigation system stolen at 7.30pm on Monday.
In Stooperdale Avenue, a spare wheel was stolen from a Fourtrack vehicle at 9.15pm on Monday.
