AN off-licence in Darlington could be changed into a hot food takeaway, a planning application has revealed.
K and S Peacock on Neasham Road, which is currently vacant, could be changed to a hot food take away called Sui Generis, according to a planning application on the Darlington Borough Council website.
The change of use could lead to external alterations such as extraction equipment to the northern side of the building as well as changes to the ground floor.
There is an existing Chinese takeaway further up Neasham Road called China China.
According to the application, 'a noise and odour assessment' has been carried out and concludes that noise will not prohibit the application as long as noise limits are met.
The proposed takeaway could operate between 11am and 11.30pm
The application points out that the proposed change of use could also bring new jobs to the local area.
The application can still be viewed and commented on by the public on the Darlington Borough Council website.
