A HOSPICE has revealed details of how people can take part in its virtual Bark in the Park event.

St Teresa's Hospice, in Darlington, which had previously postponed the event from its original date in April, announced it was cancelling the popular sponsored dog walk last week.

Instead, it is encouraging as many people as possible to either walk the Bark in the Park route in their own time or to complete a landmark challenge of Darlington.

The event is £6 to enter and participants are encouraged to set a sponsorship target of £15 per dog.

Entry is open and people have until September 6 to complete either challenge.

Registration will close at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 2.

There will be a goody bag and bandana for every dog to take part.

A hospice spokesperson said: "Please raise as much as you can to help us look after families who need us. Our nursing and counselling teams work tirelessly throughout the year to give care and support to terminally ill people and their families.

"It costs over £3 million a year to provide these services and we need your help now more than ever because of the ongoing impact of Covid-19"
