A COUNCIL is using social media to keep its town's spirits high during the coronavirus pandemic.
Darlington Borough Council, which has renamed itself to 'Stay Home Darlington' on Twitter has taken to the platform to spread messages of support to residents.
Councillor Heather Scott OBE, leader of the council, said: "In these challenging times we truly see the best of Darlington.
I am so proud of our communities, and continue to be moved by the selfless acts of kindness shown by so many across our borough."
The council has also used Twitter to highlight the town's response to social distancing guidelines, showcasing Darlington's empty town centre and South Park.
Two-metre reminders have also been painted around the town, reminding residents what the distance looks like to aid social distancing.
