A CHARITY, which helps children who may be suffering with their well-being, will be able to continue its work thanks to a generous donation.

The Darlington branch of international women's group, Inner Wheel, banded together to raise funds for the charity 'Listening Post'.

Listening Post was set up to help children who suffer from problems. The charity puts volunteers into schools throughout the town to listen to children who may be suffering with low-level mental health and well-being issues that they cannot speak to their parents or teachers about.

In November, members of Darlington Inner Wheel hosted its annual coffee morning at St Augustine's Church, on Coniscliffe Road, in support of Listening Post, raising a total of £1,484.90.

The funds were presented to the charity at Darlington Inner Wheel's January meeting, where its president, President Lynne Waterfall-Brown handed a cheque to Listening Post's Martin Sand.

Darlington Inner Wheel was founded in 1947 for the wives of Rotarians, and this International organisation has progressed to welcoming ladies from all walks of life.

Clubs meet regularly and have a full and varied programme through which friendships are built and maintained.

It is One of the largest women's voluntary service organisations in the world with members in 103 countries.
