PUPILS from a village school set out to add festive feeling to a neighbouring new housing development.

The group of youngsters, from Hurworth House School, near Darlington, came carol singing at the Hurworth Gardens Bellway development, off Roundhill Road, on Thursday, December 5.

Local people, parents and members of staff were invited to join in the festivity as the group performed their favourite Christmas carols.

Assistant Head Teacher of Hurworth House School, Gary Robinson, said: “Our young people enjoyed the opportunity to sing to an audience and I hope they have provided members of the community with festive joy.”

Sales Manager for Bellway Durham, Darren Pelusi, said: “It was lovely to see the children in such high spirits singing their favourite Christmas songs, and they gave the development a fantastic Christmas feeling.

“We’d like to thank the students and staff who spent their afternoon bringing lots of joy to the residents of Hurworth Gardens.

"Their performance was wonderful.”
