MORE than 200 people turned a hotel’s grounds into a Frozen winter wonderland in support of a North-East hospice.

The Frozen Winter Trail, which took place at Hall Garth Golf and Country Club Hotel, near Darlington, featured fairytale characters, including a Queen, Princess, and Snowman.

The Northern Echo:

The pre-Christmas treat raised money for Butterwick Hospice Care, with the characters welcoming families to a fun-filled musical trail around the hotel’s nine-hole golf course.

Event organiser Helen Kirby said: “It was the perfect opportunity to get families together to do something for the Butterwick.

“We’re so grateful to everyone who has come out to support and raise money for the hospice, and to Hall Garth Hotel for so kindly closing their golf course especially for us.”

Undaunted by poor weather, visitors were treated to a chat, songs, selfies, and some tasty treats from the characters at each stop along the route, before the trail ended with a visit to Santa’s grotto.

Organisers hope to raise more than £5,000 from the event, which will help to fund the hospice’s vital work in the area.
