DARLINGTON say they have banned a fan from matches at Blackwell Meadows for igniting a flare at their FA Cup tie with Walsall last month.
The supporter has been banned for three years.
A club statement read: "The possession of pyrotechnics at football matches is not only contrary to the club’s National League ground regulations, it is also a criminal offence. The matter is in the hands of the police.
"The club has made it very clear, by various means, that we will not tolerate the possession of pyrotechnics at our games, and we will not hesitate to issue similar bans in the future.
"We would like to thank everyone who confidentially provided images and video footage of the incident."
Darlington are away to Solihull Moors on Saturday in the first round of the FA Trophy.
