STUDENTS from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form college in Darlington’s Future Engineers scheme, took part in an educational day at Labman Automation in Stokesley, North Yorkshire.

The students received a demonstration of one of the Company’s latest products as well as receiving an informative tour of the building.

The company has several previous students from Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, including Project Leader Nick Bruce who left the college in 2009, and all have offered support to help support and educate existing students in the college’s Future Engineers program.

Queen Elizabeth student Ethan Metcalfe said: “There was a great atmosphere within the company, everyone was so friendly and the Managing Director actually asked us to resolve on of their computer problems.”

Student Cameron Pirie also said: “It was brilliant to see the wide range of products Labman is currently working on and the teamwork that was going on between both senior and junior members of staff.”

Future Engineers Co-ordinator Liz Bryan added: “it was lovely to reconnect with some of our ex-students and watch them pass on useful advice to the Future Engineers.”

Labman Automation manufactures specialist robotic solutions for laboratories, industries and medical facilities for customers across the globe.

They have made 315 robots operating in 42 different countries.
