A THEATRE venue for young audiences has announced its Autumn and Winter programme.

The Hullabaloo, Darlington, will host a variety of shows and activities for families to enjoy.

Children, young people, and their families will be entertained with a mix of theatre specially made for children, free creative play, storytelling and arts and crafts sessions.

The Autumn and Winter season from the venue, based on Borough Road, includes acts such as FIVE, returning to The Hullabaloo October 23 to 26, as part of TakeOff Festival, England’s leading festival of theatre for children. The funny and inclusive show for ages 3-6 is a playful exploration of our five senses through dance, movement and music.

Older children aged 13 and above are invited to sit around a table whilst stories unfold around them on Wednesday October 23 in There is a Noise (Hestnes / Popovic), a show that investigates memory told to the narrative of escaping war as a child.

Laura Case, Executive Director at Theatre Hullabaloo said: “Autumn at The Hullabaloo is a real mix of shows and activities for all of the family to enjoy.

"We are fortunate to be able to bring a slice of the TakeOff Festival magic to The Hullabaloo this year and we are looking forward to welcoming families through the door to see some world-class, truly outstanding, international theatre for children and young people.”

Half-term activities include lantern making on Monday October 28, a free drop-in craft session where families are invited to make their lantern and join the Halloween Lantern parade, organised by Darlington Borough Council, on Thursday October 31.

Other half-term activities include Halloween Storytelling and Crafts on Thursday October 31, for ages two to five and five to 7 years, and Sky on October 29 and 30, a lyrical dance piece for children aged two to four years.
