DOZENS of travel agents from across the North-East have been learning about the opportunities available at Teesside International Airport.

The attendees heard about the latest developments at the airport and its plans for the future, following its complete rebrand and programme of summer holiday flights.

Next summer, for the first time in seven years, residents will be able to fly to Majorca and, thanks to a strong uptake this year, Balkan Holidays also confirmed a second season of its Bulgaria flights on sale now for next summer.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen said: “We were delighted to welcome the travel agents to Teesside International alongside our airline partner KLM and the initial feedback has been incredibly positive.

“Some of the agents were not aware of how good our connections to the world are using the KLM link to the world class Amsterdam hub.

“There has been real momentum at the airport this year, with our popular rebrand bringing back the much-loved Teesside International name. We’re going from strength to strength, with 2020 tickets to Majorca, the UK’s most popular holiday destination, available now. We’re ready to show the world what we have to offer, and this was just the first step.”
