A MAN believed to be of Albanian origin was found with identity documents for a citizen of Slovenia when searched after an alleged public order matter.

The identity card and driving licence were recovered from Nerim Isati, also known as Nerim Trezhnjeva, in Darlington, on August 6.

He has since been charged with two counts of possession of identity documents in the name of Nerim Isati which he knew to be false, “with improper intent”.

Appearing at Durham Crown Court, via video link from the city’s nearby prison, he was assisted by a French interpreter.

The case was adjourned to allow him to have consultation with counsel Vic Laffey, prior to a hearing, on September 19.

When told of the adjournment he asked, via the interpreter, if he could have the assistance of an Albanian interpreter at the next hearing.
