Defender Michael Liddle has followed manager Alun Armstrong to Darlington from Blyth Spartans.

Armstrong took control yesterday and was quick to make the former Sunderland left-back his first signing. Centre-half Louis Laing is also expected to join the pair at Blackwell Meadows.

Little has had spells with Sunderland, Carlisle, Leyton Orient, Gateshead  and Accrington Stanley.

He then joined Dunston, before moving on to Blyth in June 2016 and has made 111 appearances.

Armstrong said; "Michael is one of the best left backs in the league, and is capable of playing a lot higher. He has high energy levels, is good in the air, and looks after the ball. He has plenty of enthusiasm and is very good at getting up and down."
