A GROUP dedicated to preserving and maintaining a playing field for surrounding communities are meeting to share ideas about the site.

The Friends of Fryer's Field Recreation Ground are holding a get-together for residents in the Haughton and Whinfield areas of Darlington, or anyone with an interest in conserving the open space.

In previous years, the meetings have been used to share ideas about the playing field, which include a small park, linked by Whinfield Road and Fryer Crescent.

As well as an opportunity to offer opinions and suggestions on the field and its play equipment, the Friends will also be giving their feedback on ideas shared and plans for the recreation area.

The meeting will be held from 9.30am until 10.30am on Saturday, May 18, in St Anne's Church Hall, off Welbeck Avenue, Darlington.

Anyone interested in becoming involved with the Friends group or with an interest in the playing field and its future is welcome to join the meeting.
