THE £50,000 mark has been reached ten days into the Darlington FC Supporters Group’s Boost the Budget initiative.
It was launched on Wednesday last week with a deadline set of May 31 to reach an £80,000 target.
However, Quakers’ loyal supporters are well over the halfway mark with almost three weeks still to go, a total of £50,567 having been pledged by this afternoon.
Without a benevolent benefactor on hand, the scheme is a repeat of last year when Quakers fans pledged £86,000 to their club.
The Darlington FC Supporters Group are again inviting fans to pledge what they can with proceeds raised going towards “building our club on and off the field” in season 2019-20.
To make a pledge, supporters can go here or visit Quaker Retail in the Dolphin Centre, open 10am-1pm Monday-Friday.
It is anticipated that more money will be pledged once Darlington have appointed a successor as manager to Tommy Wright.
The club say they received 71 applicants for the role and this weekend will interview six to eight candidates, with the entire process due to be completed in a week’s time.
