THE British Army is targeting youngsters in Teesside as part of its latest recruitment campaign.
Career advisors and serving soldiers will be on hand at various events in colleges across Teesside and Durham this week and next.
The first event is today at Darlington College and will move on to Billingham 6th Form College on Friday, Stockton Riverside College on Monday, Redcar College on Tuesday, East Durham College on Wednesday and to Bishop Auckland College next Thursday, May 16.
Those interested can use virtual reality technology to experience what it is like to be in the British Army and look at the latest Army Kit and equipment, including an interactive robot which helps bomb disposal experts.
The soldiers will be on hand to answer any questions about the breadth of roles available in the Army as a Regular or Reservist as well as share first-hand information about what it is like to serve.
Graeme Hynds, Regional Operations Manager, said: “The British Army has such a big range of roles and opportunities available and, as one of the most respected organisations in the world, a career in the Army will see you go far.
"The Army champions and supports you to achieve further professional qualifications whilst in your role, and you can even study for a degree."
