ANYONE wanting to enjoy an informative Heritage Tour of Darlington Hippodrome is urged to pop along to the town centre venue early next month.
The theatre, which has a colourful history dating back to 1907, recently underwent a multi-million pound revamp.
The tour will take people through the theatre's formative years as a music hall venue, the one-off appearance of the world’s most famous ballerina Anna Pavlova through to the recent multi-million pound restoration to become a 1,000 seat venue with state of the art facilities.
The restoration work was funded through cash from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council and Darlington Borough Council
Visitors will learn all about the characters that shaped the theatre’s history, the famous acts who have graced the stage and of course a tale or two of the venue’s ghosts.
The Heritage Tour will take place on Thursday, May 2 at 10.30am. Tickets are £5 and advance booking is advised.
To book your space visit www.darlingtonhippodrome.co.uk or call 01325-405405.
