A NUMBER of egg-stravagant Easter events for all the family will be on offer throughout the bank holiday weekend.

The Cornmill Shopping Centre in Darlington will host an array of activities running from Good Friday until Easter Monday.

The festivities will begin with families invited to hop along to the centre for free Easter-themed activities from 11am until 3pm.

The Cornmill will be hosting an Easter bonnet making workshop where children will be able to create their own fancy hat ahead of the big day.

Charlie Chick will also be making special appearances at the centre throughout the day and will be posing for pictures with young fans.

On Easter Monday, children are invited to explore the centre’s Easter trail to find hidden treats. From 11am until 3pm, Easter egg cut-outs will be placed around the Cornmill Shopping Centre by the Easter Bunny for a free Easter Egg hunt.

There will also be an arts and crafts station where children can get stuck into egg cup decorating.

Susan Young, centre manager at the Cornmill Centre, said: “As part of this year’s Kids Club events programme we’ve created some egg-cellent activities to keep the kids entertained over the Easter weekend.

"The indoor Easter Egg hunt is especially ideal for parents looking for a safe but fun pastime for their little ones.”

  • The Cornmill site in Darlington town centre will be open from 10am until 5pm on Good Friday, closed on Easter Sunday, April 22, and open again between 10am until 5pm on Easter Monday, April 23.
