A DANCER who started her career on her kitchen floor will be inspiring the next generation of stage stars at an upcoming workshop.

Solène Weinachter, who will star as Juliet in an upcoming performance of Juliet and Romeo in Darlington's Liddiard Theatre, will lead the contemporary dance session on Good Friday.

Teenagers can learn from Ms Weinachter who trained in Lyon, France and the London Contemporary Dance School to use movement to tell stories on stage with the Lost Dog dance and theatre company.

The workshop will run between 10am and noon on Friday, April 19, in the Darlington Hippodrome., beginning with a basic physical warm-up followed by theatrical exercises and some storytelling combined with dance and movement.

The following day, Ms Weinachter will be on stage in Polam Hall with her company at 2pm and 8pm. The Juliet and Romeo performance follows what might have happened to Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers in a modern world with work, children and divorce on the cards.
