AN ANNUAL Easter Community Fun Day will be held this weekend, with Darlington's Mayor judging a traditional Easter bonnet competition.
The ever-popular family-orientated event is being hosted by the Darlington Elim Pentecostal Church, off Bowman Street, on Saturday, April 6.
The day includes a wide range of free activities for guests of all ages, as well as live music, a free raffle, an interactive Easter story and a special visit from the Easter bunny.
Visitors are invited to bring homemade bonnets for a contest to be judged by the Mayor, Councillor Veronica Copeland, who will be visiting the church during the afternoon.
The community day is not a fundraiser for the church, with members instead offering the event as an opportunity to celebrate Easter with neighbours, friends and family.
The annual fun day will run from 1pm until 4pm, with Cllr Copeland judging the Easter bonnet contest at 3pm. Admission is free and will also offer face painting, games and giant Jenga.
