THE Hullabaloo children’s theatre in Darlington, has announced its Spring season, with a mix of world-class theatre plus a range of activities such as storytelling, themed days and craft sessions on offer.

The season starts with the opening of Dreamland in the venue’s Gillian Dickinson Creative Play space, a sensory play installation that welcomes children aged 0-4 years and their grown-ups to take a journey above the clouds. The installation is free to access.

The theatre programme gets underway in the February half term with Grandad’s Island, based on Benji Davies’ award-winning book, where audiences can join an intrepid duo on a heartwarming adventure filled with laughter and songs for ages 4-8 years.

For babies, Kaleidoscope (made for ages 6-18 months) offers a sensory experience that brings colours to life for the little ones, inspired by research into how a baby’s sense of sight develops and how they instinctively begin to categorise colour.

Next up is FIVE a performance that brings the five senses to life in a world of play that transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Made to celebrate its 10th birthday, Theatre Hullabaloo has partnered with its friends at WinterWalker on this production for children aged 3-6 years.

For children 3-plus, M6 Theatre Company return to The Hullabaloo with One Little Word, a gentle story of friendship, power struggles and the rich world of creative play.

The venue is welcomes back Australian company Slingsby who return to The Hullabaloo after the success of The Young King with the intriguing and delightful show Emil and the Detectives for ages 8-plus.
