A CINEMA welcomed its one millionth admission over the weekend two years after it opened.

Vue Darlington, situated in the town's Feethams leisure complex, accepted its first admission in 2016.

Since then, filmgoers have made full use of the facility, consuming more than 2,850 kilograms of nachos – about half the weight of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Visitors have consumed 150,000 litres of Tango Ice Blast, enough to fuel a Boeing 747 once around the world.

Seven tonnes of Pick’n’Mix have been sold and 9,750 metres of hotdogs eaten.

Stuart Dunn, general manager at Vue Darlington, said: “Reaching our one millionth customer is such an exciting milestone as we’ve welcomed so many wonderful cinemagoers over the years.

"The team have enjoyed every minute of serving up sweet and savoury snacks for our guests before settling down for the ultimate movie experience, it really is a huge part of any trip."
