A VILLAGE held a packed weekend of activities to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.
Middleton St George Community Centre and Parish Council worked together to bring people together from all corners of the village for what was a special and emotional weekend for all.
A spokesperson for the event organisers said: "Groups and individuals have united to create a village event to honour those who served.
"It has been wonderful to see how the whole community has come together in such a moving tribute to remember those who sacrificed their lives.
"Representatives of various groups in the village met to plan the Remembrance events, and at these gatherings there was a great spirit of mutual support and assistance, which has embraced and connected across the neighbourhood, with involvement and creativity of all age groups working together to remember, to learn, to appreciate, and never to forget.”
