A NEW plaque has been unveiled commemorating the bravery of those who lost their lives during the First World War.
Members of the 50 Signal Squadron, 37 Signal Regiment, joined the congregation at St Cuthbert’s Church in Darlington for the special service.
Captain Davis Shaw, of the 50 Signal Squadron, 37 Signal Regiment, said: “As part of the unit’s planning for this year’s Remembrance Day Services the Squadron held a commemorative church service in St Cuthbert’s Church.
“The aim of the service was to pay tribute and remember those who fought so gallantly and lost their lives in the Great War. During the service the unit unveiled a plaque in commemoration to the Fallen.”
The plaque, located in the North Transept of the town centre church, was unveiled by Sergeant Andrew Williams, of the Darlington-based squadron, and the Mayor of Darlington, Councillor Veronica Copeland.
