CHILDREN and young people with autism enjoyed a special theatre performance at The Hullabaloo.
Bamboozle Theatre Company, who create shows for children, young people and their families with disabilities, presented Storm at the venue to school children on the spectrum as well as two relaxed performances suitable for larger family groups.
Inspired by Shakespeare’s, The Tempest, Storm told the story of the magician Prospero, his apprentice Ariel and the creature Caliban. Using a limited amount of Shakespeare’s language, Storm told a dramatic story of sea, ships, island and magic to intimate groups of around six school children on the autistic spectrum and their teachers.
Miranda Thain, Artistic Producer at Theatre Hullabaloo says “It has been an honour to present Storm as part of our Autumn / Winter programme at The Hullabaloo. Bamboozle Theatre Company are highly regarded in creating magical and memorable experiences specially designed for young audiences with additional needs. We’ve enjoyed welcoming students and teachers from special schools across the region to enjoy this beautiful show, demonstrating that The Hullabaloo is a place that presents brilliant theatre for all children”
